Intravenous therapy, or better known as IV Therapy, is infusion of a liquid substance directly into the vein. IV Therapy is done when a patient needs to replace lost fluids or to receive medication. Traditionally IV therapy was only available in a hospital setting, but that is no longer the case. Hospitals are shortening patient stay, therefore more recovering patients are in need of a post-acute facility.
Regency Integrated Health Services provides a path from the hospital to home for many patients across Texas. IV Therapy has become a staple service in most of our facilities. IV Therapy is used to treat dehydration, sudden drop in blood pressure and for other diagnosis, such as diabetes.
IV Therapy may be administered on a regular or intermittent basis, depending on the patients need. Having the skills to perform IV Therapy in the facility is an important key for us to provide healthy environment for our patients.
