Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) – DADS is an agency that administers long-term care services. It provides support for people who are aging or have intellectual and physical disabilities. One of DADS main responsibilities is to licenses and regulate long-term care service providers. The agency also administers the state’s Guardianship program.

DADS Initiatives

  • Texercise is a statewide health promotions program provided by DADS. This program encourages all to adopt a healthier lifestyle by adding physical activity and better nutrition to your lifestyle.
  • Long-term Care Ombudsman is a program that serves as a part of DADS and focuses on complaints. “Federal and state authority mandates ombudsmen to identify, investigate and resolve complaints made by, or on behalf of, residents and to provide services to help in protecting health, safety, welfare and rights.”
